"Learning How to Draw Anime is a step in the right direction."

Here's a bit about me.

I am your average guy. Like most people, I study and am learned in academic subjects unrelated to my hobby. However, during my free time I’ve put all my heart and soul in pursuing this hobby which is also my dream. In doing so I’ve had training in various art courses.

I read a lot- mainly textbooks but in my free time I read novels. Reading novels lifted a blockade on my imagination. I was opened up to new worlds that transcended the mediocre existence that was my life. In a way, it allowed me to dream… But five years back I was introduced to Manga.

Manga for me was like a palette with limitless colors. It was a nice change from page after page of plain old text. Manga was easy to read and easy on the eyes. It was less taxing on the brain. The characters and stories seemed to come alive effortlessly. For a while, I have to say that I was addicted to this form of storytelling. This in turn led to my thirst for Anime. And for a very long while, I was satisfied. But then, one day I asked myself if I was happy…

Was I happy with forever reading other people’s stories? Nine times out of ten, the endings were a let down. If everyone was happy with the way stories turned out, there wouldn’t be fanfics.

Lets admit it, there’s always something that you don’t like about a story.

~Unsatisfactory romantic pairings.

~Disappointing storyline developments.

~Subpar plot twists.

~Characters displaying moronic behaviour.

This is where you ask yourself whether you could have done any better? Why should you have to settle for anything less than your standard. Don’t you have dreams of a perfect story too...?

I will be your guide on this ongoing tutorial on How to Draw Anime. I have learnt a great deal of things over years on How to Draw Anime and would really like to share it with you. I will mainly focus on the realm of digital art. I would like to say that I am well versed in Photoshop and good at drawing Manga.

I have many topics in mind to discuss with everyone. This is a journey of personal growth. I need to ‘level-up’ as much as anyone else. So lets do this together. Together we shall create the Manga and Anime art of our dreams.
